Auto-hit no longer force the use of a melee weapon in the first slot. To get a clearer picture, here are different loadout use cases :

  • You have a melee weapon in slot 1, and another type of weapon in slot 2: your melee weapon will automatically strike (same as before)
  • You have a melee weapon in slot 2, and another type of weapon in slot 1: the melee weapon will automatically strike (new - no matter which slot the melee weapon is in).
  • You have melee weapons in both slots: the melee weapon in slot 1 will automatically strike, the other will not (same as before)
  • You have no melee weapon: no auto-hit (new - auto-hit mode was deactivated before, now it remains active but has no effect until you pick up a melee weapon)

Now, you don’t need to have a specific loadout (a melee weapon in slot 1) for auto-hit to be active. Auto-hit can be active at all times, even without a melee weapon. However, its effect only applies if there is a melee weapon in the loadout.
