With the release of the Return to Castlevania DLC, you can now enter the KONAMI Code in-game to obtain a reward. The KONAMI Code is a well-known specific input sequence :

UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A

In Dead Cells, you can hit those keys if you are playing with a gamepad to validate the Code. Keep in mind that accessibility features as well as controls customization will influence the Code and change the sequence. For instance, if you bind the D-PAD to camera controls rather than movement, you won't be able to use it to input the KONAMI Code.

As such, it is easier to see the Code as an in-game actions sequence (directions are those of player movement, not camera) :

UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT DODGE JUMP

If you follow this sequence of actions, it will trigger the KONAMI Code no-matter what bindings you are using.

When using touch controls, logic remains the same. Please refer to the example video for more context.

In order to obtain the reward, you must meet the following conditions :

- you entered the KONAMI Code correctly (there is no delay or time-out - take your time)

- you own the Return to Castlevania DLC

- it is the first time you enter the Code in the current run (triggers only once per run)
